Nicky Davis – The Art League

Over the past few years I have been making more and more public art and love the idea of creating something in the public space. I feel it opens art up to a greater audience and allows art to become a part of peoples everyday life.

My design represents the merging of two cultures folklore. From France I painted the famous red fox “Renard” and from Texas I painted the Coyotes that raised the famous Pecos Bill. By merging these two folklores hopefully it will interest the viewer into learning more about other cultures and by doing so bring more people together. I remember as a child learning the tale of Pecos Bill and all of the misadventures he had and I look forward to spreading those stories on to my own children. In the same way I want to learn more about France’s folklore and also educate and entertain my children with their stories as well.
